Foundational Beliefs

LifeSource Community Church is guided by certain foundational beliefs and core values. Our statement of theological foundations includes, but is not limited to the following…

Absolute Truth

We believe the Bible, composed of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament, is the inspired word of God and without error in the original writing. The Bible was given by God through human writers as guided by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the full and final authority on all matters of faith and practice; there are no other writings similarly inspired by God.

God

We believe in a personal God who has revealed Himself as One; God exists in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each is distinct—yet all of One essence and deity. We believe that God the Father is the Creator and Ruler of all. He is compassionate, loving, and just toward all people and is faithful to keep His promises. He desires all people to have a relationship with Him by receiving His Son, Jesus.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He came to earth fully God and fully man through a miraculous conception and virgin birth. He lived a sinless life and voluntarily died on the cross in our place as full payment for the sins of all people. He is the final and complete sacrifice for the sins of all humanity. He arose bodily from the dead on the third day to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended into heaven to the right hand of the Father. He will personally return to earth and those who have believed in Him will be united with God eternally in Heaven.

Holy Spirit

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who reveals God's truth to the world and indwells believers to empower them for Godly life and service. We believe in the diversity of gifts given by the Spirit for the common good of the church and are all operating today.

Salvation

We believe that sin was introduced into the world through the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden. The reality of sin separates each person from God which is spiritual death. People can be reconciled to God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and Him alone. Anyone who accepts and believes in Jesus' death for the forgiveness of sin is forgiven. Upon this decision, God establishes a personal relationship with that person and gives them eternal life.

Marriage & Family

We believe God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. It is God’s unique gift to reveal the union between Christ and His church.

Baptism & Lord’s Supper

We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby all believers, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.
